Reason for it is pretty simple, Im releasing about one video a month on average, but s...

The Manga that Breaks People
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gSo this time we’re talking about “Chi no Wadachi” or “A Trail of Blood” (Also known as “Blood on the Tracks”). I started reading this manga about two years ago, and it really turned my blood cold, and I thought for a long time about how to tackle it in a video, and well, today's the result.I was pretty happy with the response to my ...
Why You Should Watch Outlaw Star
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gThis week we’re talking about Outlaw Star. So, this has been a very long time coming, one of those shows that I knew I was going to do a video about some day, and here it is.With the exception of Jojo videos, I haven't done a “Why You Should Watch” in a couple of years, and to be honest, they just became a little too… “easy”. After doi...
The Bizarre Modern Reality of Sonic the Hedgehog
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gAnd its about SONIC!This is a video I’ve been planning for a while, I think I had the idea for this one back around the time I decided I was going to do the Bizarre Modern Reality of The Simpsons. I wanted to do it because I wanted to try and do something different with that format, to show fandom not just as something positive, but as a reflection...
My Favorite Things Winter 2020
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gHope all you guys are doing ok, The last couple of days have been pretty strange.Ireland's going kind of insane, there’s a ban on all public gatherings of over 100 people, and people are buying up as much food/ consumable items as they can, I went to a super market earlier and it was like a scene out of a movie. Its been a strange thing watching...
The Current State of Shonen Jump 2020
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gSo this time we’re doing The Current State of Shonen Jump 2020.This is a video that’s been requested for a long time but something I’ve been reluctant to go back to. The first time I did one of these videos was back in 2017, I knew very little about how Shonen Jump works and the videos was rife with inaccuracies and errors, easily the worst vid...

Why You Should Watch Jojos Bizarre Adventure Part 5
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gSo Jojos Bizarre Adventure Part 5. I’ve said everything I’ve gotta say in the video, enjoy <3I did however promise you an amusing personal anecdote in my last patron post, so here it is:I was but a lad living with my parents in suburban Dublin, and I decided to take the Luas (a tram that runs through dublin) into the city center. When I get off I...
A New Video Just Went Live on The Channel!
Yo guysA new video just went live on the channel!:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E19E9QgcqDcI'm not gonna lie. I have just uploaded the video and left writing this till the last minute, and now I have to hastily finish this blog post before new patrons arrive, or they will be double charged for a video they have just watched.I promise you all a super entertaining anecdote next time. But one thing- if you need “help” getting the Silent Hil...
The Insanity of Gantz and Why You Should Care
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9g/videosSo Gantz is a super weird series. I’ve been really reluctant to cover this one for a while cause I think Gantz has a lot of problematic elements, but its also a series that's been pretty near and dear to me, and trying to strike the balance of not endorsing the parts of it I don’t like while while acknowledging what i do was difficult,...
The Bizarre Modern Reality of the Simpsons
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gSo it's been a little bit!Apologies about the delay with this video, a combination of travelling to Cons/ an ill timed cold and a very weird video topic meant that this one really took some doing. This is the kind of video I love to make- I would love to watch a 30 minute video about Simpsons Fandom, but it doesn't exist, and so my only option...
My Favorite Things Summer 2019
A new video just went live on the channel! This time we got another Fave things video! This was a really fun one to work on, I think this is probably the smoothest production a video has had for a while, which is a relief because the Shenmue video kind of killed me.Next couple of days for me are going to be preparing for anime expo, I have a 14 hour flight tuesday which I'm not looking forward to, but the con itself should be a lot fun. It can ...
The Tragic History of Shenmue
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gThis one's been a long time coming, and its about SHENMUE.If you listen to the bosscast you’ll know what a big deal this game is to me, the Shenmue series was for a very long time one of my favorites ever, I have a lot of fond memories and nostalgia for the series, and on one hand that's a good thing; you have all this nostalgia and enthusi...
"Non Battle" Battle Anime
A new Video just went Live on the channel! This time we’re talking “Non Battle” Battle Anime. This is an idea I’ve had kicking around my head for quite a while, but basically any series that uses the trappings of your traditional shonen battle series, minus the actual fighting.I actually tried to cover this way back in 2017 in my video on Kaiji, there’s a section where I talk about “The Meta of Shonen”, and I’ve been thinking about...
Devotion: The Disturbing Horror of Red Candle Games
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gThis time we’re talking about Devotion and the Games of Red Candle. This was a pretty tricky video for a lot of reasons, because it’s not really one story as much as it is five different stories, that all feed into a greater whole. Trying to balance each section and give enough context to support the overall message of the video was difficult, eac...
The Undertaker: Long Term Story Telling in Wrestling
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gSo after nearly a year, we’re doing another video on wrestling. This was kind of scary one to do for a lot of reasons, for one its been a while since I did a video of this length, but also, the last wrestling video I did is one that people get the most passionate about, and that’s a lot to live up to. I didn’t want to try and recreate that video...
My Favorite Things Winter 2019
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gHello Friends, been a little while, right? So yeah, as you probably saw last December I was in bad need of some time away from youtube, and after taking some time and resting up I'm back! The time off was pretty strange honestly, it felt odd not constantly working on videos and worrying about the channel, but I think it really helped me gain some ...
Why You Should Still Watch Hunter X Hunter
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gAs some of you probably know from my recent posts, I’ve been feeling a lot of creative burnout the past couple of weeks, and I know “Burnout” is a popular topic on YouTube right now, but I don’t really know how else to describe it, and so for the final video of the year I wanted to talk about what I’ve been feeling.Initially I wanted to jus...
Dragon Ball GT: What The Hell Happened
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gSo, lately I’ve been feeling pretty creatively exhausted, hence the long wait in between videos. I think it started after uploading the Final Fantasy 15 vid and has been very difficult to shake, but looking back over the last 12 months, I’ve been working pretty much constantly all year, my average work week being somewhere around 60 to 70 hours, ...

The Problem with Silent Hill 3, the Fall of Team Silent
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gSo, sorry it’s been a little bit.Basically, two weeks ago I had a near finished Silent Hill 3 video done, which was much more like a basic why you should play of the game, but after sitting down and watching it I couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn’t right, and that I could do better, and so I scrapped the entire video and started ...
My Favourite Things Fall 2018 (Halloween Special)
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gWe have another favourite things video, except this time we’re getting a little spooky ~~~The channel recently hit a big milestone with half a million subs, which is so crazy to me, I don't think even in my wildest dreams I ever imagined it going past 100k, and I feel a little torn on it honestly. On one hand its super cool to be able to do thi...
Final Fantasy 15 was a Mediocre Disappointment
A new video just went live on the channel!https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtGoikgbxP4F3rgI9PldI9gSo first off, just want to say thank you for actually waiting for this video, it’s been a month since the last upload, and I hope the reason for that becomes obvious once you check this one out. This is the longest video I’ve ever made, at 52 minutes it’s even longer than Why You Should Watch Hunter X Hunter, and I guess even more than that it k...
