Chapter 1528
ToC: https://www.patreon.com/posts/23899958“None of you are deaf and dumb, no matter how weak you currently are,” Overseer Helen drawled as she slowly surveyed the gathered recruits in front of her. Her hand was on her hip, the fingers tapping rhythmically as she considered. She pursed her lips.“So I’ll say openly what you’ve probably heard in whispers to this point: both Military High Command and the Nexus Labor Council are using the d...
Chapter 1527
ToC: https://www.patreon.com/posts/23899958Randidly stood in the darkness of the Web, peering down into the depths of the Nexus. Even with his Grim Intuition, the murky shadows below were an impenetrable shroud. Secrets might be right below his position, but Randidly couldn’t tell. He had traveled deeper down into the Web than he ever had before, observing as the cables that earned the nickname the Web becoming increasingly infrequent and the m...

Just a heads up that there will be an extra long chapter tomorrow to finish out the week.
Chapter 1526
ToC: https://www.patreon.com/posts/23899958Randidly rubbed the bridge of his nose as he walked out of the training area and looked up toward the sky. Low clouds hung overhead, slowly building into a rainstorm. A cool wind brushed Randidly’s cheek. I guess it’s better that I realize now that this is becoming a problem. My personal significance turns out to be nothing compared to how much a group can accumulate…But I suppose that makes sense....
Chapter 1525
ToC: https://www.patreon.com/posts/23899958“Ar….arrooooo…!”After taking the time to roast some fish for a quick meal, Vizzeret suddenly opened his mouth to release a deep yawn. Steam wafted up from the delicacy sitting on the plate in front of him. However, the act of yawning seemed to unlock a sudden wariness in his chest that he couldn’t resist. Helplessly, he found his body curling up beneath him; he twisted sideways to avoid facepla...

Chapter 1524
ToC: https://www.patreon.com/posts/23899958DiOrtho settled into a meditative position in the small dirt clearing at the center of the bamboo forest. There was enough space here that the light arrived normally in this spot, although the rainstorm meant that the ambiance was gloomy anyway. He faced away from the path he had taken to get here, so all he saw was the bamboo reaching toward the sky. The rain had intensified, starting to wash the rest of...
Chapter 1523
ToC: https://www.patreon.com/posts/23899958DiOrtho Vant roared in challenge and spread his arms out wide. His flesh rippled and trembled as he allowed his signature Skill to do its bloody work. Across his the span of his back, his flesh began to ripple and tear as weapons forced themselves past the confines of his person and into the air, carrying with them bits of shredded flesh as a testament to their journey.A broadsword with a line of gold al...

Today is my break day. I'm sorta waffling between moving slowly or quickly through this next part.In other news, I think I will go with one of the suggestions in the comments and have a poll for the next PP Tithe from the Alpha Cosmos. We are probably still fifty or so chapters out from that, but I'll be thinking about interesting and meaningful choices for that.
Chapter 1522
ToC: https://www.patreon.com/posts/23899958After seeming to get the measure of Randidly through their brief confrontation, the Commandant’s attitude eased immensely. He then moved directly to the other purposes for his visit. First, he asked whether Randidly would require additional Aether to fuel his Engravings to assist in the training of the recruits. Clearly, he was now willing to provide more legitimate assistance than just his reputation....

Chapter 1507
ToC: https://www.patreon.com/posts/23899958Long chapters again. Just a time of transition.Gabriel Swacc has the piece.Raymund Ballast felt his hands clenching in fists as he stood on the humming teleportation platform. For the first time since his brother was born, he felt the entirety of his world’s fate resting on his shoulders. His heartbeat began to accelerate; his people could not afford another failure. And perhaps because of how personal...

Chapter 1506
ToC: https://www.patreon.com/posts/23899958Lay’mel eventually wandered off with a cheery wave, still unaware that Randidly was, in fact, the demonlike Head Drill Sergeant he had described at length. By the end, Randidly was paying attention less out of any politeness and more taking notes about what sort of violent instructor he was supposed to be. Yet more than being so thoroughly gossiped about, Randidly was more annoyed that Lay’mel didn...
Chapter 1505
ToC: https://www.patreon.com/posts/23899958The Fifth Cohort Rally Station reminded Randidly of the teleportation relay stations pretty directly. It was perhaps five times the size of the initial teleporter relay that Randidly had landed on as he arrived at the Nexus and was part of a closer orbiting ring of landmasses, but otherwise, it was the same rather dusty stone plateaus floating below the brilliant star system that felt so close to the Nex...
